NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Ten-toned wasps that live in cells of dozens of individuals are able to reach simple logical inferences when searching for food, according to a study of new American scientists from the University of Ann Arbor, Mich.

"We do not say that wasps use the full extinction feature, but they were very close to that, because the wasps used the logical relationships I had known and discovered before," said Elizabeth Tibbets, a biologist.

"This discovery suggests that the development of complex behaviors does not necessarily depend on the size of the brain, but on the structure of the population (wasps)," she said.

It should be noted that in the early 21st century, Elizabeth and her colleagues discovered that wasps had the ability to recognize and remember the faces of other wasps from the same cells.
