American television channel AMC revealed some details of the creation of a new spin-off of the TV series “The Walking Dead”.
According to the portal Deadline, the main characters of the new show will be two girls. It is noted that they were born and reached the age of majority after the onset of the zombie apocalypse, so none of them know their former peaceful life. The main intrigue will be that of the two of them by the end of the series will remain a positive hero, and who will turn into a negative one.
The television company also announced that the production of the series will begin in the summer of 2019, and the premiere of the first episode is scheduled for 2020. The name, the number of episodes and the cast of the new show remain unknown.
“We are very pleased that the Walking Dead will continue to penetrate into all the new corners of the post-apocalyptic world, thanks to which we will get new characters and new stories. They will not be like what we had previously shown on our series, ”said David Madden, program director at AMC Networks.
If AMC plans come to life, this will be the second spin-off to the series. The first was called “Fear the Walking Dead”, its premiere took place in 2015. At the moment, the show has 53 series, divided into four seasons. In 2018, it announced intentions to release the fifth season.

The show soon gained popularity, and the fourth and fifth seasons became the most rated. However, since the seventh season, the Walking Dead ratings have declined significantly, and the tenth episode of the eighth season of the series showed a rating of 2.9 million for an audience of 18 to 49 years old, which was the worst indicator among viewers (the premiere of the fifth season was watched United States).
