More than 2,000 rallies against rising fuel taxes and falling purchasing power have been identified by the Ministry of the Interior.

Figures released earlier in the morning have been revised upwards. Place Beauvau, which reported 50,000 demonstrators and more than 1,000 Yellow Vests rallies across France, is now talking about more than 2,000 rallies mobilizing 124,000 people.

Several serious incidents have occurred on blocking points in the country, according to the Minister of the Interior, Christophe Castaner: a protester was killed in Savoie and 47 people were injured, three seriously.

24 people were arrested during the Yellow Vest demonstrations and 17 of them are in police custody.
