Xinhua News Agency on Sunday introduced a news anchor as it read news of delegates arriving in Beijing for an annual parliamentary meeting.

The new announcer is similar to the human and simulates facial expressions and natural behaviors.

Through artificial intelligence, the automatic announcer Shin Xiaoming appeared with short hair wearing a pink dress and two tattoos in a one-minute video broadcast by Xinhua.

The introduction of the new broadcaster came after Xinhua developed in cooperation with Suzhou, the first artificial intelligence broadcaster.

Xinhua presented artificial intelligence news broadcasters, dressed in formal dress in November, at an international Internet conference held in east China's Wuxin City.

China is seeking to enhance its artificial intelligence proficiency to include sectors including surveillance equipment and self-driving vehicles.
