A study found that chocolate can help protect against hearing loss.

The study, published in the journal The New Internet Scientific and conducted by a number of doctors in the South Korean capital recently, the rate of hearing loss among those aged 40 to 64 years was much lower among those who eat chocolate.

The chemicals, called polyphenols, found in cocoa, have strong anti-oxidant properties and inflammation that may protect against hearing loss, the researchers said.
The study included 3,575 men and women aged 40 and 64 who were tested for hearing before talking to them about their consumption of chocolate.
The researchers found that the rate of hearing loss was "much lower" for those who ate chocolate and was 26.8%, compared with 36% for those who do not eat chocolate.
