Wings and mail: on the Aéropostale line in Africa [2/2]

At the end of the First World War, a mythical airline was initiated by a French industrialist, Pierre-Georges Latécoère. His project, create an air mail link between three continents: Europe, Africa and South America. This modern epic, conquering the sky, will then cross nine countries to deliver mail and connect men. One hundred years after the first takeoff of the Latécoère Aéropostale Line in 1918, sixty planes flew in September 2018, in the wake of Aéropostale. From stopover, from Cap Juby to Saint-Louis from Senegal via Casablanca and Nouadhibou, the memory of aviation pioneers such as Mermoz, Saint-Exupéry or Guillaumet revives. The Raid Latécoère-Aéropostale, created in 2007, brings together aviation enthusiasts every year, eager to travel through this legendary line. And in this centenary year, the journey has the look of a great pilgrimage to Africa. Fasten your belts and embark with us, from Toulouse to Dakar in Senegal on the route of the Latécoère-Aéropostale line.

A big report in 2 episodes of Raphaëlle Constant with RFI Labo.
