Two works lost in a basement. Yet these two works almost never reappeared. It is on the occasion of a large storage that they have resurfaced, tells France Bleu. A woman from the region wishing to rid her basement a few months earlier found them. They were quickly authenticated: they are well of the hand of the artist.

Secretary of State and Duke Ferdinand. The drawing of 1833, in a small frame of 30 by 40 centimeters, represents Count Louis-Mathieu Molé, Secretary of State at the time. Ingres has made a very free interpretation, according to the auctioneer interviewed by France Bleu. The second drawing, dating from 1840, shows Duke Ferdinand and was bought by a Chinese collector almost at the price estimated by specialists.
