Scientists talked about the condition of killer whales and beluga whales in the “prison” in Primorye

According to him, in general, the condition of animals is assessed as satisfactory.

“Animals survived hibernation in captivity - it is always a challenge. We have identified some health problems. In general, the group of animals in the bay is in very good condition, ”said Bizikov.

At the same time, he clarified that one of the killer whales had a problem with the tooth, and some of the belugas had problems with the skin.

“We will develop individual treatment and rehabilitation schemes,” the specialist concluded.

Earlier, the head of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako, said that this year they plan to open a rehabilitation center in the Middle Bay, where the whale prison is currently located.

Also, the press service of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography reported that in the near future in the region they intend to discuss the mechanism of the adaptation of killer whales and belugas.
