“Analysis of the 10-minute images of the weather satellite revealed a thermal anomaly in the area that occurred on December 12 at 9:50 local time,” the SIC website reported.

It is noted that the data of the space satellite Sentinel-2A for December 9 and December 12 was analyzed. As a result, it was found that the snapshot taken on December 12 is missing in the picture.

“In comparison with the image for December 9, a change in the ground cover is observed: the outlined contour has a homogeneous texture, which indicates a lack of vegetation cover,” the experts noted.

It is also reported that water was noticed on the completely frozen river bed, since, apparently, the ice was deformed under the influence of rocks.

Earlier it was reported that in the Khabarovsk Territory part of the fells collapsed into the Bureya River. According to one version, the cause of the incident could be the fall of a meteorite.

According to Gazeta.ru, the company RusHydro confirmed reports of the almost complete overlap of the Bureya River.
