Samsung Electronics is withdrawing all phone samples from Galaxy, which it distributed to reviewers for testing after the company was slapped with a slap to its reputation by delaying the launch of its first folding phone, an informed source said yesterday.

Instead of receiving testimonials before the phone was launched on April 26 in the United States, the South Korean company was plagued by defects from technology page reporters that included fractures, puffiness and flickering in screens just one day after the samples were used.

But the setback to the new $ 1980 phone is far from comparable to the explosion of the Nexus 7 mobile phone in 2016, which prompted the company to reverse its launch. Analysts and investors said Galaxy's sales this year were likely to account for less than half of a percent of Samsung's total annual sales.

Samsung said on Sunday it would postpone the Galaxy Display for an indefinite period until the flaw reports were investigated.

The announcement comes days after some reviewers have reported problems in their samples.

A company representative declined to comment yesterday.

Samsung plans to sell 1 million Galaxy devices this year, equivalent to less than half of the 291.3 million handsets sold by the company in 2018.
