Forced to abandon the Route du Rhum after a capsize on November 6, Armel Le Cléac'h had rallied the land thanks to a fishing vessel. The towing of its trimaran Maxi Banque Populaire is underway and looks delicate with regard to the weather conditions.

This is one of the highlights of this Route du Rhum. On November 6, the Maxi Banque Populaire IX turned off the Azores (790 km from the coast) and Armel Le Cléac'h found himself forced to give up. A fishing vessel is responsible for saving the sailor from Saint Paul de Léon, then to drop it a few days later in Vigo, Spain.

Since the damage caused the capsizing of the trimaran last week, the insurer and Team Banque Populaire have worked extensively to set up a recovery mission despite extremely adverse weather conditions. A Portuguese ship arrived in the area earlier this week and was able to tow the boat, which is very damaged. The return to shore looks long and difficult with unfavorable weather that could continue to degrade the trimaran.
