TESTIMONIAL EUROPE 1

Neck stiffness, high fever, sensitivity to light ... At the first symptoms of meningitis, we must act quickly. Patricia Merhant-Sorel, president of the association "Little angel, together against meningitis", reminded how this disease can be lightning. She herself lost her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter to meningitis in brutal circumstances. "I thought of a disease that can have many children" and "I lost very precious hours," she says with emotion on Europe 1 Wednesday, this World Day of Meningitis.

"At 4:30 pm she leaves school and the school teacher tells me: 'Since 3 pm, she is very tired.' I go home, she begins to vomit, she has a fever and she asks to go to bed Like any mom a little worried, I get up at 4 or 5 am, and I notice some tasks on her skin.

"I lost very precious hours"

I thought of a disease like many children can tell me that I am going to make a doctor's appointment. Only, I lost very precious hours. When I managed to get a doctor's appointment at 10am, she was almost in a coma already.

She returned at 11am to the hospital in Le Havre, she died at 13:30. Which proves that it is devastating, without really having the time to realize what happened. I always say that I have three children, two alive. My unvaccinated daughter, she is no longer there. "
