Lady Gaga is a successful pop singer and currently for the first time as an actress to see in a theatrical role. Today, it is hard to imagine, but at the beginning of her career, the American apparently resorted to a trick to get appearances. That's what the 32-year-old told in the "Ellen DeGeneres Show".

At about age 19, she decided to try as a singer because she did not get acting jobs, Lady Gaga said. She tried to help her success with a strategy: "I pretended to be my own manager." She phoned on possible places of performance and said: "Hello, this is Lady Gaga's manager, she is very popular, we would like to have the ten o'clock performance date for her, if that is possible."

Today, the singer and actress probably no longer needs such games. In the movie "A Star is Born" she plays the young musician Ally, who is discovered by aging country star Jackson Maine - played by Bradley Cooper - and overnight becomes a star. Cooper makes his directorial debut with the film.
