The children in the series "Game of Thrones" have become adults over the years. So does Sansa Stark, played by 23-year-old Sophie Turner: she developed from a reserved 13-year-old girl to a strong and self-confident woman.

The latest episode identifies the alleged cause that has had a significant impact on their development: it is the sexual abuse that Sansa Stark has repeatedly experienced.

Sansa Stark returns to Sandor Clegane, also known as "The Bloodhound," in the latest episode of the final season. He once tried to persuade Sansa to leave King's Landing with him. According to him, in this case, she would have been spared the abuse.

Sansa responds with reference to her tormentors: "Without Little Finger, Ramsay and the rest, I would have been a small bird all my life."

But that these experiences of Sansa Stark should be decisive for their development in the series, like a fellow actress of Sophie Turner not at all. Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty") has concerns about the message that it conveys.

"Rape is not a way to make a character stronger," the 42-year-old wrote on Twitter, referring to this statement by Sansa Stark. According to Chastain, Sansa Stark's strength lies solely with her - not with her experiences. A woman does not have to become a victim in order to grow. The little bird has always been a phoenix.

Rape is not a tool to make a character stronger. A woman does not need to be victimized in order to become a butterfly. The #littlebird was always a Phoenix. Her prevailing strength is because of her. And her alone. # GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/TVIyt8LYxI

With this statement, Chastain plays on her new superhero film "X-Men: Dark Phoenix", in which Sophie Turner plays the lead role. As "Jean Gray" alias "Phoenix" she has supernatural powers and is considered particularly powerful. In June, the film should come to the cinemas.
