The Health Insurance will reimburse 6 euros less from 1 January for some expensive medical acts, for which the "participation fee" of the insured will increase from 18 to 24 euros, according to a decree published Friday in the Official Journal.

Acts greater than 120 euros. This decree "revalorizes the amount of the insured's participation" for certain acts, especially those "whose rate is equal to or greater than 120 euros" - except for exempt persons (invalids, pregnant women, chronically ill ... ). According to the government, this partial disbursement aims to "bring consistency" the coverage by the Health Insurance with another decree of 2011, which had raised the threshold of application of the "participation lump sum" from 91 euros to 120 euros .

New refunds at 100%. The cost of this new measure is estimated at 40 million euros per year, according to complementary health (mutual, insurance, provident institutions), which reimburse this "participation" in the vast majority of cases. The president of the Mutualité Française, Thierry Beaudet, had denounced in September an "unfair" measure, which could lead to an increase in the contributions paid by the insured. The decree also creates new 100% reimbursements, in particular for compulsory health examinations for children under 6 years of age and for the fees paid by pharmacists for "particularly expensive and irreplaceable medicines".

From 1 June, the "prevention of breast and cervical cancer" consultation for women aged 25 will also be fully reimbursed.
