On Monday, an explosion had exploded in a residential building in the southern Russian town of Schachty. Rescue workers initially found three bodies in the rubble of the partially collapsed building, at least seven people were injured.

In the meantime, according to Russian media reports, rescue teams have discovered five bodies that could all be identified. Among the dead are four women and one man. According to the authorities, three of the victims belonged to the same family, a 46-year-old couple and their 23-year-old daughter.

The search has been completed. The accident in the city about 900 kilometers south of Moscow was triggered according to initial investigation by a gas leak. The authorities investigate for negligent homicide. The survivors should receive financial support, the Wednesday was declared a day of mourning.

Only on New Year's Eve a gas explosion in the city of Magnitogorsk in Siberia had brought down part of a large prefabricated building. There were 39 people killed.
