Because of an air traffic controller strike in France threatens obstructions in air traffic. Air traffic controllers unions have called for a nationwide strike this Thursday.

According to Air France, France's civil aviation authority (DGAC) has called on airlines to reduce their flights on Thursday due to the strike. The main airports affected are Paris-Orly, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse .

Air France wants to carry out all long-haul flights on Thursday, but there will be short- and medium-haul failures. The strike was scheduled to start on Wednesday evening at 7 pm and continue until 6 am on Friday morning, as the station France Bleu reported.

On Thursday, nationwide strikes are expected throughout the civil service throughout France. The unions have mobilized to fight against a bill to transform the civil service and want to go for example against job cuts and temporary contracts on the street. The air traffic controllers unions are also demanding more officials in the DGAC.
