If the Liberal Democratic Party secretary general Tamaki Denie House of Representatives (Okinawa 3 ward) resigns as a candidate for the candidacy in September's Okinawa prefectural governor's election, the House of Representatives election will not be held on October 28. It will be vacant for the time being because it is impossible to make an election while lawsuits concerning "disparity in one vote" are continuing under the provisions of the Public Offices Election Law.

The election law stipulates that electoral districts with vacancies from 16th March to 15th September will be elected on the 4th Sunday in October. However, if lawsuits such as the validity of the election are continuing, it is said that supporters can not be elected in the target districts.

In the House of Representatives election in October last year, a lawsuit on the "one-vote gap" was brought up in all 289 constituencies, and in March this year the rulings of the high courts and branches came up, but the Supreme Court has not decided. If it comes out by March 15 next year, it will be subject to the election of the House of Representatives in April. (Hirabayashi Daisuke)
