The Egyptian Interior Ministry said in a statement that while a security force conducted a sweep in the market area of Sheikh Zuwaid police station in northern Sinai, the oldest suicide bomber aged about 15 years blew himself up near the security force, killing seven people and injuring 26 others.
The incident resulted in the deaths of two officers and two policemen, as well as the killing of three citizens, including a child of the age of "6" years, in addition to the injury of 26 citizens, and were taken to hospital for treatment.
