A ICE of the Deutsche Bahn was partially derailed on Sunday evening in Basel, Switzerland. According to a company spokesman jumped the power car and a car in the driveway to the Basel-SBB station from the rails.

According to the news agency AFP, there were around 200 passengers on the train. There is currently no information about injured, said a railway spokesman. The ICE 373 was on its way from Berlin-Ostbahnhof to Interlaken-Ost. The accident happened on the short stretch between the stations Basel-Badischer Bahnhof and Basel-SBB.

Wagons evacuated, impact manageable

In the late evening, the evacuation of the train ran, the passengers were gradually brought out of the cars. Travelers could bypass the closed section of the tram, it said. Rail traffic on German territory was not affected. The effects on long-distance traffic are expected to be manageable.

Already in November 2017, an ICE in Basel was derailed - at that time, however, at the other of the two major train stations in the city. Affected were several cars of a train from Hamburg. In it sat 500 passengers, no one was injured.
