The Transport Minister of the SPD, Christian Pegel, has released the temporary bridge on the A20 motorway near Tribsees two weeks after completion.
Together with the department head responsible for motorway construction in the State Office for Road Construction and Transportation, Ronald Normann, and Langsdorf Mayor Hartmut Kolschewski he sat in the first car, which drove on Wednesday across the 773 -meter-long steel bridge in the direction of Stralsund. Also the lane direction Rostock should be released shortly.
In the autumn of 2017, the A20 section over boggy ground in one direction had only collapsed - and finally completely broken away. Shortly thereafter, this also repeated in the other lane, so that the highway was completely interrupted. Traffic has since been diverted at the site.
