Stationary trains, disgruntled travelers: The failure of a signal box paralyzed Hannover Central Station for hours on end. There were disabilities in local and long-distance traffic.
In the early evening the signal box disturbance according to the railway was finished. The trains of the S-Bahn Hannover and the regional express trains of the lines RE 1 and 8 could again approach the main station. But it comes to operating hours to delays and partial failures, said the Deutsche Bahn on Twitter.
At the main station of the capital of Lower Saxony - an important hub for the whole of Germany - long queues formed in front of the information stands. Many passengers made their displeasure on the Internet, others took it with humor or thanked for tips. Passengers sat partly 1.5 hours in the ICE in front of the main station before their train drove back.
Already at the beginning of December, a cable fire had paralyzed Hannover Central Station for hours and left travelers stranded. The cause of the current incident was still unclear.
