“To stop drunkenness in the theater is a matter of principle for me. I warned about this at the first meeting with the troupe. And after that I had to repeat more than once. But, unfortunately, not everyone heard me, ”he said.
According to him, it was impossible not to notice that one of the artists, Anton Khomyatov, was drunk, and after their conversation the actor wrote a letter of resignation of his own accord. Khomyatov left on one-off performances.
As noted by Boyakov, for him drunkenness as a norm of talent or an integral feature of a creative person is not an argument.
As for smoking, the Moscow Art Theater artistic director reminded that smoking is prohibited by law and that they are constantly checked by the fire brigade.
As Boyakov added, there is no talk of harsh repression, but the theater will consistently restore order.
