Firefighters have freed a cat from a smoky apartment in the Hamburg district of Wandsbek and then ventilated with an oxygen mask. A neighbor had noticed that smoke came from a third-floor window, the fire department said. After gaining access to the apartment, the forces met the weakened pet.

It was brought outside and supplied with oxygen. Subsequently, the cat was taken to the Hamburg animal welfare association according to the fire department in an animal transport box.

It turned out that a plastic cabinet in the bathroom had caught fire. The fire could be extinguished quickly. The heavily smoky apartment was initially uninhabitable, they said.
