Terrible facts in Haute Savoie. Two people died in an explosion, no doubt due to gas, which occurred on Friday night in a building in Annecy.

Two people died in an explosion that occurred on Friday night in an Annecy building.

Both bodies were found in an apartment on the first floor where the explosion occurred. The identification is still in progress but "the probability is very strong" whether it is the occupants, a couple of octogenarians.

Five residents and a firefighter were slightly injured in the accident and transported to the hospital. Thirteen residents emerged unscathed from the building, heavily damaged by the disaster.

According to Hervé Higonet commander of SDIS 74, the firefighters had to consolidate the building, which threatened to collapse, before being able to enter the apartment where the explosion occurred. Its origin, undoubtedly related to the gas of city which feeds the building, must be specified by the clearing of the places.

According to the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré, the violent explosion woke the entire neighborhood by blowing windows around. The explosion caused a fire controlled by firefighters at night.
