A German teenager of Austrian descent died on an ice-skating holiday in Austria on Wednesday after being pelted with an avalanche in front of his parents and brother who could not save him.

The 16-year-old teenager asked for help as she had no emergency equipment to help save him.
Rescuers pulled the body of the teenager 20 minutes after the accident.
Earlier on Wednesday, six German students escaped an avalanche in western Austria, some of them ice-covered.
Austrian police announced that all the students survived the incident without injuries.
