Australian media reported that Abba managed to wrest his little boy from the jaws of an Australian dog (Dingo) on an island in the north of the country.

According to the Australian Associated Press, the father heard the child cry when the dog pulled him from his family camp to the jungle on Fraser Island, Queensland, late yesterday.

"The parents woke up to the baby crying and heard his voice go away from the camping car," the agency quoted the medic as saying. Then the father ran out of the van, grabbed his child from the dog, and rushed to inform the emergency services, after he had chased many Dingo dogs.

The child was treated near the scene of the accident, with two deep wounds in the neck and less severe wounds in the head. He was then taken to hospital. About 200 Dingo Australian dogs live on the island, which is part of the Grand National Gardens of Sandy, on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). These dogs are protected in national parks in Queensland, as a native species.
