The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Initiative for Global Prosperity unveiled yesterday the innovations to win the Mohammed bin Rashid International Challenge for Industrial Innovators after the MIT Solve Competition team co-sponsored the initiative to select 16 of the more than 1,000 innovations it participated in. Innovators from 83 countries around the world cross-platform open innovation on the Internet.

These 16 innovations were selected for the final competition by four competitors for each challenge of the Mohammed bin Rashid International Innovators' Industrial Challenge Program, which includes four challenges related to sustainable energy, the digital divide, the eradication of digital illiteracy, agricultural development and the elimination of hunger and sustainable cities.

The 16 innovations were selected based on their ability to deal with these challenges on the ground, their applicability on a wide geographical scale, and serving the largest population in global societies, with a commitment to achieving the overall goal of the Initiative and reflecting its general principles.

The initiative will provide the winners with financial prizes, technical advice and training opportunities with international organizations worth up to $ 1 million to expand their solutions and disseminate them in the commercial markets. Winners will be announced at every challenge during the second edition of the World Summit on Industry and Manufacturing, Russian Ekaterinburg in July of 2019.

The initiative has created a world-class jury of 37 global innovation experts from a range of UN agencies and organizations, major industry and digital innovation companies, NGOs, business accelerators and incubators and academics.

The initiative will run two days at the Khalifa Center for Innovation at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Future Towers at the Emirates Towers Boulevard in Dubai on 16 and 17 April. The 16 entrepreneurs will review their solutions to a panel of judges and answer their questions. The Jury will be able to choose the winning innovation to meet the challenge of the Mohammed Bin Rashid International Challenge Program for Industrial Innovators. The event will also feature many panel discussions and workshops involving innovation experts from around the world and the UAE.
