Soviet film director and screenwriter Sergei Parajanov was born on January 9, 1924. Success in the USSR and abroad came to Paradzhanov after the release of the films “The Color of Pomegranate” and “The Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors”, the last of which was warmly welcomed abroad. The tape received special prizes from the jury of film festivals in Thessaloniki and Mar del Plata. In his films, Paradjanov embodied allegories and parables. The characteristic cinematography of the director was recognized throughout the world and was reflected in the Bedtime Story musical composition by the American singer Madonna, and fragments from the tape “Color of Pomegranate” appeared in clips of several foreign groups. Sergei Paradzhanov realized as an artist, leaving behind a lot of assemblages, installations, mosaics, paintings and drawings.
