The Commercial Court of Lyon rules this Wednesday on the buyer of Scopelec, a company specializing in the installation and maintenance of fiber optics.

A judgment particularly awaited by the employees of the largest cooperative in France.

Everyone fears a social breakdown.

It is the future of the largest cooperative in France that is at stake this Wednesday.

The Commercial Court of Lyon decides on the buyer of Scopelec, a company specializing in the installation and maintenance of fiber optics.

The 2,300 employees of Scopelec fear breakage.

The Circet group, which is holding the rope to take over Scopelec, plans to keep only 1,100 of the 2,300 employees.

However, a project for a new cooperative was also presented to the Lyon commercial court at the beginning of the month.

It is carried by a majority of Scopelec employees, plans to diversify the activity in the installation of electric charging stations and it promises to preserve 500 more jobs.

But this project would not present the necessary guarantees.

A letter addressed to Emmanuel Macron

Force Ouvrière denounces a betrayal by Orange, Scopelec's main contractor.

The union accuses the operator of not having supported the project.

Orange says it does not take sides with any of the offers.

In recent days, Scopelec employees have written to the Head of State, Orange's largest shareholder, asking him to encourage the operator to review its position.

To our knowledge, this letter has remained unanswered.
