China News Service, Guangzhou, August 9th (Cai Minjieyue Road Construction) Guangdong Provincial Transportation Group announced on the 9th that the core project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-the west main tower of the Zhongshan Bridge in the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage was capped, marking the bridge’s transfer into The fast lane for superstructure construction.

The deep-medium channel is a cross-sea cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater intercommunication", with a total length of 24 kilometers and a bridge project of about 17.2 kilometers.

Among them, the Zhongshan Bridge is a double-tower cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 1,170 meters and a main span of 580 meters. After completion, the main tower will be 213.5 meters high, which is equivalent to a 70-story building.

At present, the west main tower of Zhongshan Bridge has been built to 206 meters, and the remaining 7.5 meters of steel structure tower crown will be installed on the top of the tower after the steel box girder of the main bridge is closed.

There are two main towers in the east and west of the Zhongshan Bridge in the deep and middle passage. The tower columns are reinforced concrete structures. The entire main tower is poured with a total of about 42,000 cubic meters of concrete. The steel consumption is nearly 10,000 tons. The tower is located on the side of Wanqingsha in Nansha District, Guangzhou.

“The main tower of the Zhongshan Bridge in the deep and medium channel needs to complete the construction of 34 tower columns. The size of the tower columns gradually narrows as the tower height increases. The top is thin and the bottom is thick. The cross section is an octagonal gem-shaped structure. They are not the same and bring us challenges.” said Yao Zhian, director of the Bridge Engineering Management Department of the Shenzhen-China Corridor Management Center.

It is understood that the main tower of Zhongshan Bridge is constructed with a hydraulic climbing formwork system. In order to adapt to the curve design of the tower body, the size of the formwork needs to be adjusted for each climbing section.

According to Xu Dongsheng, the person in charge of the S06 contract section of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage of the Second Public Administration of China Communications, through practice, the construction accuracy of the Zhongshan Bridge tower column is well controlled, and the safety is stable. It can achieve the efficiency of completing one tower column every 11 days on average.

The construction site of the Zhongshan Bridge of the Deep and Medium Passage is located in the Lingdingyang sea area, facing the characteristics of the ocean's high salt and high humidity environment. The project uses corrosion-resistant high-performance materials to coat all the steel components, and realizes the protection by the formation of oxide rust layer on the surface Long-term anti-corrosion, through measures such as covering the top surface with water and applying curing agents to ensure that the quality of the concrete meets the requirements.

At present, the west main tower of Zhongshan Bridge has been capped, and the east main tower has been constructed to 192 meters. It is planned to be capped in September this year. The subsequent Zhongshan Bridge will be transferred to the construction phase of steel box girder lifting and superstructure, laying the foundation for the closure of next year.

After the completion of the Shenzhen-China Corridor, it will change the traffic pattern on the east and west sides of the Pearl River in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, optimize the transportation network, and form a one-hour living circle between the major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
