China News Service, Guangzhou, February 19th (Wang Hua Shendian) February 18th marked the fifth anniversary of the release of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". Over the past five years, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. has basically built a modern power grid in the Bay Area, built a world-class electricity business environment, and provided strong support for accelerating the construction of a world-class Greater Bay Area.

On a street covered with red lanterns, a "super charging station" in Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan City attracts new energy vehicles traveling from south to north. This is the first 600-kilowatt liquid-cooled super charging station of China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Company. It takes more than an hour for a new energy vehicle to be fully charged at an ordinary fast-charging charging station, but it can be "fully charged" in about ten minutes here.

It is understood that China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Company has put into operation more than 35,000 charging piles, and this is just one example of the green tide surging in the Bay Area. In the past five years, Guangdong Power Grid has optimized its energy structure and provided a steady stream of "green energy" to the Greater Bay Area. It has consumed nearly 1 trillion kilowatt-hours of clean energy in southwestern provinces. The clean energy consumption in the Greater Bay Area accounts for 10% of the total electricity consumption in society. The amount exceeds 60%.

Data shows that the power supply capacity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been greatly improved. Especially with the completion of the Guangdong target grid project at the end of 2023, the mutual power supply capacity of the east and west of Guangdong Province will be increased from 4 million kilowatts to 10 million kilowatts, and the supply capacity will be increased to 300 million kilowatts. Previously, the construction of supporting power projects for the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor was completed, and the integrated construction of the east and west sides of the Pearl River Estuary achieved "electricity connectivity", effectively promoting the in-depth integrated development of the Greater Bay Area urban agglomeration; the Guangdong-Macao interconnection 220 kV third channel has also been put into operation, providing Macao with Economic development and deepening cooperation between Guangdong and Macao provide strong energy security.

"The Guangdong target grid projects have all been completed and put into operation, which means that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has basically built a modern Bay Area power grid." Liu Zhengchao, director of the Bay Area Office of China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Company, also said that Guangdong Power Grid has built the world's largest capacity grid in the Greater Bay Area. , a flexible DC back-to-back power grid project that can realize regional interconnection, increasing the power supply capacity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by 80%.

At the same time, the power of digital is continuously being injected into the power supply services in the Greater Bay Area. At the end of 2023, Guangdong Power Grid's "cloud metering" system will be put into operation, with a storage capacity equivalent to 5 billion books and computing power that can process 5,000 Xinhua dictionaries per second. This marks that Guangdong Power Grid has entered a new form of electricity business with "data + power + computing power" as the core, and Guangdong's 50 million users have entered a new era of "digital intelligence symbiosis".
