ANA will confirm the results of the PCR test with the digital certificate displayed on the smartphone app when boarding the plane, in order to lead to the resumption of cross-border movement restricted by the influence of the new coronavirus. The experiment was conducted for the first time at a domestic airline.

The demonstration experiment was conducted using the app "Common Pass" developed by the World Economic Forum and others.

The app displays the results of the PCR test received at the designated medical institution on the screen of the smartphone and acts as a digital certificate indicating that the entry conditions of the visited place are met.

On the 29th, at the counter at Haneda Airport, two passengers using ANA's international flight to New York cooperated in the experiment, and an airline representative confirmed the screen of the smartphone showing a negative test result. ..

Eight airlines around the world, such as All Nippon Airways, are cooperating in the experiment with this app, and in the future, we aim to make it possible to check the vaccination history and make it a universal mechanism.

Takusen Fujita, a specially appointed lecturer at Keio University School of Medicine, who is the project director at the World Economic Forum, said, "Compared to paper certification, test results can be confirmed more smoothly and reliability can be improved."

Hiroshi Goto, director of the ANA Digital Transformation Office, said, "I would like to cooperate with the experiment to make it easier to board international flights."
