[Explanation] The Pingtan Strait Road-Rail Bridge, located in the comprehensive experimental zone of Pingtan, Fujian, is 16.34 kilometers long. It is China's first and the world's longest dual-use road-rail bridge across the Strait. It is also a Fuzhou-Pingtan railway control project. At present, the bridge is undergoing fine-tuning construction and is expected to be officially opened to traffic at the end of this year. At that time, the Fuping Railway will also be officially opened for operation. On August 25, the reporter walked to the Pingtan Strait Highway and Railway Bridge to conduct a field interview.

[Explanation] At 2 o'clock in the afternoon, two orange-yellow continuous running tamping and stabilizing vehicles of the Yingtan Industrial Machinery Section of China Railway Nanchang Bureau Group Co., Ltd. are performing mechanized fine-tuning construction operations on the line. The two manipulators of the machine are constantly inserted, vibrated, lifted, and moved.

[Explanation] Railway fine-tuning is a key process before the joint test of the new railway. It mainly makes multiple fine adjustments to the gauge, level and spatial distortion of the rail to eliminate the dynamic and static deviations, thereby improving the smoothness of the track equipment and ensuring the opening of the line After the train runs smoothly.

The operation accuracy of these two sets of tamping cars can reach 1 mm, and then through our starting lanes, tamping operations, to ensure the compactness of the ballast, to reach the train's operating release conditions, to meet its final design requirements, for the follow-up The driving of motor vehicles creates conditions.

[Explanation] Fujian Pingtan Strait is one of the world’s three major wind vents, as well as Bermuda and the Cape of Good Hope. It is called the "bridge construction restricted area". The average number of strong wind days above level 6 exceeds 300 days per year, so it is left to the builders every year Effective construction time is very limited.

We in the bridge industry believe that this place is a restricted area for bridge construction and is not suitable for bridge construction, but we built the bridge and it was hard-won. It is affected by the northeast monsoon every year. It is located on the mouth of a bell and has a narrow tube effect, so the wind here is particularly strong. Every year, there are more than 300 days of strong winds above grade 6, 200 days for winds above grade 7, and 100 days for winds above grade 8. When we were building a bridge on the Yangtze River, it was very complicated to have a water conservancy change of about 1 meter a day. Then the water conservancy changes about 6 meters a day here. One rises and one falls. Then the direction of the rise and fall of the water flow changes. It is different, which brings us great difficulties in construction.

[Explanation] Zhang Hongxin told reporters that during the construction of the bridge, the bridge faced various problems such as complex hydrogeological conditions, narrow construction sites, complicated on-site auxiliary facilities, and rapid corrosion of seaside machinery. Since 2013, the builders have continued to tackle technical difficulties.

In order to improve work efficiency, we also built a larger platform in the middle of the sea, covering an area of almost 80 acres. There are about 600 people living on the platform for a long time. Unless there is a typhoon, he generally cannot get off. Living in the sea for a long time, even in the middle of the sea even during Chinese New Year. The platform built on the sea is not up to the world and not to the ground. It is really not easy for us builders. We can stay on it for more than seven years, and we will not evacuated until the bridge is repaired. There is no such experience in construction design, so from the budget including the investment in the design process and some technical standards and acceptance standards, I have never met before. After passing this bridge, I have accumulated experience in this area.

[Explanation] The reporter learned that the Fuping Railway is an important extension of the Beijing-Fuzhou High-speed Railway, with a total length of 88.433 kilometers and a Class I double-track railway with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. Among them, the Pingtan Strait Railway Bridge is controlled by the Fuping Railway. After the completion of the most difficult road-rail dual-use sea-crossing bridge in the world, it will greatly shorten the time and space distance between Fuzhou and Pingtan and realize the interconnection of Fuzhou, Changle and Pingtan.
