China News Agency, Beijing, August 26 (Reporter Ruan Yulin) "All the seeds and fertilizers in the family have been invested. Now 5,400 acres of rice and shrimp and 3,300 acres of double-cropping rice are all submerged." Wanggang, Xishui County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province Chen Wen, a major grain grower in the Zhenchangyuan Agricultural Cooperative, told reporters a few days ago.

Since July 6, Wanggang Town has ushered in the largest precipitation since the flood season, with a daily precipitation of 340 mm. Many tributaries flooded, and the entire Chenmiao River Basin was a vast ocean, and the 8,700 mu of rice fields contracted by Chen Wen suffered a disaster.

In the face of the flood, the Xishui County Agriculture and Rural Bureau urgently dispatched 6 large drainage pumps and 62 pumping stations to work together to rush to drain the accumulated water in the farmland. At the same time, machinery and equipment such as excavators, forklifts, and transport vehicles are used to clear ditch drainage and repair water-damaged facilities during rainfall gaps. Due to the timely drainage of stagnant water, the 3,300 mu of early rice in Changyuan Agricultural Cooperative kept part of the harvest.

According to reports, with the efforts of all parties, 24,040 acres of farmland has been rushed to manage the Chenmiao River Basin, which minimized the losses caused by floods.
