China News Service, August 26. Tang Ke, Director of the Department of Market and Information Technology of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, pointed out on the 26th that from the current overall situation of supply and demand in China’s wheat market, there is no need to worry about wheat supply and wheat prices will not continue to rise. .

The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a press conference on the 26th to introduce the current situation of grain market operation and production. A reporter asked at the meeting: It is understood that after the wheat harvested this summer, the price of wheat in Shandong and other places has continued to rise. Some large grain growers are reluctant to sell and store their grains. The progress of wheat purchases was later than last year. What is the situation of wheat purchase and sales in my country? Will prices rise sharply in the future?

Tang Ke introduced that wheat is the bulk of summer grains. This year, my country's summer grains have been harvested. The output of wheat is 263.4 billion jin, an increase of 0.6%. After Xinmai went public, the four provinces of Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu and Henan have successively launched the implementation plan for the minimum purchase price of wheat, and the market price has stabilized and strengthened. At the end of July, the average purchase price of wheat in the main producing areas generally rose to 1.12-1.22 yuan per catty, which was about 2 to 6 cents higher than the initial stage of opening the scale. It is 3 to 8 cents higher than the same period last year. The purchase price of Shandong wheat is above 1.17 yuan per catty, which is about 8 cents higher than the same period last year.

Tang Ke pointed out that this year's wheat yields have been plentiful, and prices are still rising. Therefore, there is public opinion about whether the supply of wheat in our country is tight. In some places, some traders and growers are reluctant to sell their grains. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has carried out continuous follow-up and dispatch. From the current overall situation of my country's wheat market supply and demand, there is no need to worry about wheat supply problems, and wheat prices will not continue to rise. Mainly based on several points:

First, my country's wheat has been producing high yields for many years. Since 2015, the output has stabilized at more than 130 million tons, which can meet the consumption of that year, and the production and demand are basically balanced and the pattern is surplus in good years.

Second, sufficient wheat stocks. The current inventory is roughly equivalent to a year's consumption, especially the high level of policy-based food inventory and strong reserve adjustment capabilities.

Third, changes in wheat prices are characterized by phases. The main reason is that the price of corn has risen significantly recently. In some areas, the price of corn is higher than that of wheat. Some feed companies have increased their purchases of wheat and replaced corn as feed. The market's bullish expectations have increased. Traders’ reluctance to sell has further pushed up prices. Later, as corn prices stabilize, it is unlikely that wheat prices will continue to rise. In fact, since August, wheat prices in Shandong and other places have stopped rising and stabilized.

Tang Ke said that with the advancement of the reform of the grain purchasing and storage system in recent years, farmers’ market awareness has gradually increased, and the pace of grain sales has become more balanced. When the market situation is good, some farmers are not eager to sell grain, and it is reasonable. Sex. Here I would like to remind farmers and friends, especially large grain growers, to pay close attention to market conditions and be wary of some public opinions about "grain shortage", do not blindly follow the trend and hoard grain, seize the opportunity to sell grain, and achieve high yields and harvests.
