Malte Lundmark was a reserve in the WC last year, but now the 21-year-old forward is selected "for real".

He has also previously played 15 international matches for Sweden.

- It's great fun, of course.

It's something you've been striving for for a long time and a goal you've had since you were little.

I am proud of myself, he says during the floorball association's press conference.

"I could not answer"

When he got the call from union captain Thomas Brottman, he was at work.

- I was in a conversation when "Brolle" called.

I work in customer service and couldn't answer, so I had to leave and call him later.

I was nervous, must have been a bit shaky on the voice.

The other debutants are Linus Malmström (FC Helsingborg), Linus Holmgren (IBF Falun) and goalkeeper Carl Bending-Sörling (FBC Kalmarsund).

Gustafsson will once again be the team captain

Among the veterans in the squad is Storvreta's Tobias Gustafsson, who was named the world's best men's player in 2021 and scored the decisive goal in the WC final.

He is playing his fourth championship and, like last time, will be the team captain.

- You enter this championship a WC gold richer.

The core of the team is the same as before, so I feel extremely safe and calm there.

Then we have also brought in some new players who can contribute a lot, he says.

The WC 2022 will be played on November 5-13 in Zurich and Winterthur in Switzerland.

Sweden faces Germany, Latvia and the Czech Republic in the group stage.

Sweden is the reigning champion, having won the memorable World Cup final last year against Finland in Helsinki.
