Thomas Tuchel is leaving FC Bayern: “There is freedom in decisions”

Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel is hoping that his decision to leave the record champions in the summer will result in a release - including for his stars.

»There is clarity, and clarity gives freedom.

Hopefully for the team too.

There is a freedom in choosing how to act.

You no longer have to weigh up what the long-term effect will be.

You can coach it like a cup game," said the 50-year-old before the immensely important home game on Saturday (6.30 p.m./Sky) against RB Leipzig.

You can “be a little more ruthless.”

Tuchel is only with Munich until the end of the season.

This means that a “disruptive factor is eliminated”.

These circumstances are “new” for him, but it doesn’t matter whether I think the decision is good or not, whether I’m happy about it or not.

We love football and what we do.

It doesn't matter whether I have a contract for five weeks or five years, whether it's highly paid or not.

“I will do the job with the same energy and not deviate an inch from it,” Tuchel announced on Friday.

FC Bayern continues to play “for two titles”.

The reasons for his premature end are “not clear.

If it were clear and the coach was the only one to blame, someone else would be sitting here," Tuchel continued.

He doesn't think "that I'm the only problem.

But I am responsible.

We are dissatisfied with the way we played and with the points we got.”

Tuchel is forced to improvise in Bayern's 1,000th Bundesliga home game.

The potential right-backs Noussair Mazraoui and Sacha Boey are out injured, Konrad Laimer is back in the squad after a long break, but is not yet fully fit.

Therefore, Joshua Kimmich should move from the midfield center to the right back.

Matthijs de Ligt moves into central defense for the suspended Dayot Upamecano.

Serge Gnabry, Alphonso Davies and Kingsley Coman are also missing.
