Bayern reach agreement with Juventus to sign De Ligt for 70 million euros

Bayern Munich, the German Football League champions in the last ten seasons, reached an agreement with Juventus to give up the services of Dutch international defender Matthijs de Ligt for 70 million euros, according to German media.

The German newspaper "Bild" and "Sport1" channel said on Sunday evening that the 22-year-old's transfer to Bayern includes an additional 10 million euros in bonuses for Juventus, based on some of the results that the former Ajax defender will achieve with the Bavaria giant.

Bayern will use the proceeds of the transfer of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, estimated at more than 45 million euros, to help finance the contracting process with De Ligt, who joined Juventus in the summer of 2019 from Ajax on a five-year contract for 75 million euros.

In a statement to the newspaper "Bild" over the past weekend, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn admitted: "It is true that we had negotiations (with Juventus). De Ligt is a very interesting player."

Bayern is striving to sign De Ligt in order to compensate for the departure of Niklas Zule at the end of last season to local rivals Borussia Dortmund.
