On Saturday, it was clear that six Swedish alpine skiers tested positive for covid-19 and missed this weekend's World Cup competitions in Slovenian Kranjska Gora.

One who, on the other hand, started in Saturday's first giant slalom race was Sara Hector - and as she did.

Hector started as the seventh skier and was matched against Tessa Worley from France who took the lead.

After two green and one red sign, Hector managed to squeeze ahead of Worley and the other riders and took the lead by eight hundredths.

- But shit!

Hector shouted in the broadcast when she saw her own time 1.07.23.

- It is a completely different level than the other riders, said Jessica Lindell Vikarby in Viaplay's broadcast.

Can take the lead in the cup

Sara Hector is second in the giant slalom cup after, among other things, taking her second ever World Cup victory in French Courchevel in December.

One Mikaela Shiffrin is 1.48 seconds behind Hector after the first run.

Hector now has the chance to step past Shiffrin and take the lead in the giant slalom cup.

The second run starts at 12.30.
