Mansour bin Mohammed welcomes world stars participating in the Giro d'Italia - Dubai Criterium

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, welcomed the world champions participating in the Giro d'Italia - Dubai cycling race, which was held at the Expo 2020 Dubai headquarters, as the first global event of its kind in cycling, to be held inside The headquarters of the Expo, as it is the first to be held outside Italy and bears the name of the world-renowned "Giro d'Italia" cruise.

His Highness stressed, during the meeting, which was attended by Mattar Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, that sport is a global language that contributes to creating a positive rapprochement between peoples through various competitions and championships in various sports fields, including cycling. Which enjoys great interest and care in the UAE and Dubai, which is keen to be a bike-friendly city, with the organization of major events that raise awareness of its importance, including the Giro d'Italia race, indicating that the noble goals that are encouraged through sports are compatible with Objectives of Expo 2020 Dubai, which raises the slogan "Connecting Minds.. Creating the future."  

For their part, the participating cyclists expressed their thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for the welcome and hospitality they found in Dubai, and expressed their admiration for the comprehensive sports renaissance that the emirate is witnessing in light of the official attention and encouragement, and the high-level infrastructure that the emirate has prepared. It serves various types of sports, including cycling, which Dubai has been interested in spreading its tracks throughout the emirate to encourage residents to practice and adopt sports in general as a way of life. The race took place over 30 laps for a distance of 60 km in circular tracks in the form of the infinity sign within the corridors of the Expo. The riders from the Giro d'Italia stars also participated in the Dubai Cycling Challenge, which was organized on Sheikh Zayed Road yesterday morning (November 5).
