A report reveals the identity of the best player in Africa, not Mohamed Salah

A report published by "Afrique Sport" revealed the identity of the closest candidate to win the award for the best player in Africa 2021, granted annually by the Confederation of African Football "CAF", in a report that did not give preference to the Egyptian national team star and Liverpool's top scorer, Mohamed Salah.

The site said, "Edward Mendy, the Chelsea goalkeeper and the Senegal national team, is the closest candidate to win the African Player of the Year award for the year 2021, after his contribution to crowning the "Blues" with the Champions League and European Super titles, in addition to winning the European Football Association award. UEFA is the best goalkeeper in Europe.

He explained that: "Algerian Riyad Mahrez comes in second place, as a result of his crowning with Manchester City in the English Premier League title last season, while Salah is ranked third in the list of the best, and behind him is Moroccan Ashraf Hakimi, player of the Paris Saint-Germain team, in fourth place."
