Former Egyptian football star Ahmed Hossam “Mido” tweeted a heavy-caliber bombshell about the future of his compatriot Mohamed Salah, the top scorer and Liverpool star.

"Mido" wrote on his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that "Mohamed Salah is in the Saudi League next season. Contracts have been signed."

Salah - whose contract with the Reds expires in the summer of 2025 - receives 21 million euros annually (the highest for Liverpool), and the Egyptian national team captain is the third highest-paid player in the English Premier League, after the two Manchester City stars, the Belgian Kevin De Bruyne and the Norwegian Erling Haaland, with a total of 24 million euros and 22.5 million euros annually, respectively.

Last September, media reports revealed that the Saudi Jeddah team made an astronomical offer to include Salah, but the latter preferred to stay another season in the Premier League.

The British newspaper "The Sun" claimed that the Saudi team offered 215 million pounds sterling (251.6 million euros) with additions, in order to obtain the services of the Egyptian "Pharaoh".

She added that the Egyptian star's weekly salary would have reached 2.45 million pounds sterling (2.86 million euros) without incentives and bonuses, including 55 thousand pounds sterling (64 thousand euros) for each win.

Al-Ittihad’s offer to the player also included a percentage of shirt sales, in addition to that he would become an ambassador for 3 major Saudi companies, jobs that would revive Salah’s financial treasury by an additional 18 million pounds sterling (21 million euros), with each company preparing to pay 6 million pounds sterling.

Salah, who did not play in the League Cup final against Chelsea due to injury, ranks second on the Premier League’s top scorer list with 15 goals.
