Loew summons Mueller and Homels again to the German national team

Germany's national football team coach Joachim Loew has summoned Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels to the squad for the European Cup 2020, after they were excluded since 2019. The coach explained his decision by saying, "We had made the decision previously (to keep them away) because we wanted to give the generation the opportunity "The young man, in order to improve their standards, but the Covid-19 pandemic prevented that, and we saw that it is time to summon them again."

"They know us well. They have lived in the national team for a long time and know our philosophy. The young players respect them thanks to their experience and the performances they make," he added.

After receiving the news, Mueller commented on his Twitter account, "I'm back."

The two players were crowned in the German national team at the World Cup in Brazil in 2014, and Mueller, 31, played 100 international matches, compared to 70 for Homeless, 32.

On Wednesday, German media mentioned the return of the players to the national team, which will compete in the continental championship in a difficult group that includes France, world champion, and European champion Portugal in its final version in 2016.

Mueller starred in the past two seasons and contributed to his team winning a wonderful hat-trick last season by crowning him the double champion in his country in addition to the European Champions League.
