After 106 international matches, Toni Kroos retired from the DFB in 2021.

Now he wants to play for the national team again in the important international matches in France and against the Netherlands in March - and then also at the European Championship in his own country, which begins for the DFB team on June 14th in Munich against Scotland.

Kroos follows national coach Julian Nagelsmann's wooing and returns to the national team.

The international press writes:

SPAIN

»As«:

»Toni's return also has a very personal touch.

It should not be forgotten that the Madrid midfielder's relationship with his country of birth has not been the best since he packed his bags to become a legend at the Santiago Bernabéu in 2014.

(...) Kroos' return is therefore also a reconciliation with his country.

And Germany awaits him with open arms.

»Marca«:

»The Real fans and the club itself were excited about this decision.

But what really gives the supporters, Ancelotti and the club management sleepless nights is his future at Real Madrid.

»Mundo Deportivo«:

»Kroos' return to the German national team fuels Real Madrid's hopes.

The midfielder has announced his return to the 'team' and Real Madrid sees this as an indication that he will accept the offer to extend his stay with the club for another year."

AUSTRIA

»Kurier«:

»Savior in need?

Kroos is returning to the German national team.
