FIFA extends the work of the tripartite committee in charge of managing the Egyptian Federation

FIFA decided to extend the work of the tripartite committee in charge of managing the affairs of the Egyptian Football Association for a new period until next July 31, after it was scheduled to end on the 31st of this month.

On December 17, the International Federation decided to end the work of the five-year committee headed by Omar Al-Ganaini, and to form a new tripartite committee headed by Ahmed Mujahid to complete the tasks set by FIFA to manage the affairs of the Egyptian Federation until the 31st of July.

The most important tasks entrusted to the tripartite committee was to hold new board elections for the federation before the end of this month, which has not yet taken place, as the General Assembly has not been invited or the door to candidacy opened, in implementation of the Egyptian Cabinet’s decision that prohibits holding any elections or general assemblies in Clubs and sports federations due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

It is noteworthy that the tripartite committee had sent a few days ago a copy of the amended association’s regulations to FIFA, which contained a number of items, most notably the rights of clubs and the federation and conditions for running for elections.

The regulations also included canceling the application of the 8-year clause retroactively, and consequently the right of any person to run for office and the application of the eight-year clause starting from the next council, and it also included that the new board consists of 9 individuals, who are the chairman of the board of directors, a deputy chair, and 7 members, including a woman.
