Groenewegen causes a crash at the finish of the Tour of Poland -

The UCI has decided, and it has not done so by halves.

The international cycling federation has decided to suspend Dutch sprinter Dylan Groenewegen for nine months, guilty of having crushed his compatriot Fabio Jakobsen during a massive arrival on the Tour of Poland in early August.

Jakobsen, left in the barriers, had been the victim of a fall of incredible violence, plunging him into a coma for two days.

Groenewegen, who himself fractured his collarbone in this collision at very high speed, will be able to resume competition on May 7th.
