Robel Fsiha passed a doping test in November 2019 and it had traces of a banned substance. On February 5, he was suspended pending the investigation and a verdict.
On Monday, the doping board made a decision. Today it was announced to Fsiha.
The doping committee chairman Åke Thimfors tells SVT Sport that Fsiha is suspended for four years for taking a banned substance that showed the presence of testosterone.
- It is such a substance that, in principle, leads to suspension for four years. To get away with it, it is necessary to show to the doping board that you have not intentionally got it. He has not been able to prove it, ”says Chairman Åke Thimfors.
- It was a unified decision. All six members of the doping committee supported the decision.
Can Robel Fsiha Appeal?
- He can do that. He has three weeks to appeal to the Riksidrottsnämnden. The closing date is June 1st.
The suspension applies from February 5 and four years on.
