Team Niklas Edin has had a heavy start to the season, with relatively poor results.

But when the European Championships started today in Helsingborg, they got off to a good start. They started by winning in the morning with a clear 9-3 against Denmark and followed it up by winning 8-5 against Team Yannick Schwaller from Switzerland in the evening.

Misses by Edin

Sweden got off to a good start with three points already in the first round. However, a couple of minor good stones from team captain Edin in round four and five meant that the Swiss team, which impressed during the fall and took home two World Tour competitions, caught up to 4–4.

However, during the second half of the match, Edin played, and Sweden eventually won by comfortable 8-5 after Switzerland gave up after the ninth round.

- I'm glad I was able to make some good moves and could save up for my misses, says Niklas Edin.
