Group Two Finland had a lead of five points ahead of the meeting at Bilino Polje Stadium, but the distance between the nations ahead of the three closing matches is now down to two points.

Bosnia was whipped to win in the fight for second place behind Italy - and took command immediately. Deep back pressure kept Finland away for a long time, but it was mostly a matter of when Bosnia would receive a dividend.

Amer Gojak did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Zkas Zradan Kvrzic's Izet Hajrovic got himself booked for a foul. Shortly after the goal came the next blow for Finland. Midback Paulus Arajuuri, who had a knee problem early on, was forced to switch.

The adversity continued when Pyry Soiri got the ball on hand. If he got it now. Anyway, the judge thought that was the case. Miralem Pjanic took the penalty and placed safely 2-0.

Late Danish victory goal

In Copenhagen, Denmark took a big step towards the European finals. Yussuf Poulsen's goal in the 84th minute was the end of the match.

Equally great hero was Kasper Schmeichel, superb in the Danish goal. The save in the final seconds of the match secured the victory. With only two matches left to play in the group, Ireland and Denmark park in the top at twelve points, four ahead of Switzerland, which, however, has a match less played.

On Tuesday, Ireland and Switzerland meet while Denmark takes on Gibralatar.

The Faroe Islands were long opposed to Romania

With just over a quarter left to play, the Faroe Islands looked to be able to help both Sweden and Norway in the battle for second place in the European qualifying group F.

So far it was speechless at Torsvøllur in Torshavn.

But George Puscas made sure that Romania is very much in the fight for the second qualifying second place behind leading Spain for this summer's European Cup playoffs.

In the 74th minute, Puscas broke ground. At the end of the match, Alexandru Mitrita and Claudiu Keseru rose to Romanian 3-0.

Before tonight's Malta-Sweden and Norway-Spain meetings, Romania holds second place at 13 points. Sweden has eleven and Norway nine.
